About the Project
The project Motherhood Takes Space is a long-term international project led by Daniellle Gallia-Kind and Merav Dagan. It was created out of a basic wish to have an encounter between mothers-creators, to make the village which does not anymore raises children together, in a creative space, in a hope to grow togther a creation which is many creations – a collection of maternal-artistic practices. The interest in this spesific knowledge stems from the wish to give space and stage to the knowledge and experiences which we were accustumed to keep private, as well as from the feeling that we can extract from the connection between maternal experiences and an artistic-research based insight, a knowlesge which is vital for coping with the challenges of reality. The project is supported by Kelim center in Bat Yam, Frascati theater in Amsterdam and the Peis councel for art and culture.
